Coach Stores: What to Expect at Landmark Flagships and Shops
Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, according to Tapestry’s annual report. That total splits into 336 stores in North America and 637 in international markets. You may also see a figure of about 1,299 stores, although it includes all of Tapestry’s brands, not Coach by itself. Looking forward, Tapestry has reportedly signalled that around 50 net new Coach stores are pencilled in for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them outside North America. Across the network you will find flagship Coach House locations, regular full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. Searching for a coach store can therefore turn up widely varying formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Taking it city by city, this guide reviews the best-recorded locations and flags where a store’s current status remains to be checked.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Coach was founded in New York in 1941, and its home city is home to its most famous flagship. To celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was unveiled in the fall of 2016. It was reported at about 20,000 square feet across three floors, created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Even so, the address is not its long-term home: Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. Coach is targeting 2027 for the planned move, while David Yurman is said to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space with an opening expected in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so consult Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. Also listed on the locator is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: Coach House on Regent Street
Opened in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House stands at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also worked on the London store, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Coverage at the time described a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation. Coverage also noted a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins. One retail-district listing displays a much later page date, which has led some writers to quote the wrong opening year. Tapestry said on its August 2026 earnings call, according to a published transcript, that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration. Before visiting, confirm which services are currently offered if you are planning a personalisation appointment.
Tokyo and Ginza
Tokyo’s Ginza district houses Coach’s flagship in Japan. The store, renewed in 2015, goes back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to reports of the relaunch. Selected Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, making Japan relevant for services as well. Lightly used all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted under the scheme, but outlet items and canvas pieces are excluded. As it was not confirmed which Japanese stores take part, ask the store before bringing a bag along. As with every flagship in this guide, hours and services are best checked shortly before a visit.
Greater China: A Dated Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing
Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less fully than its stores in New York or London. A record that is now dated states that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet launched on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Its current status was not verifiable, so never assume the Shanghai store is open today. Coverage also indicates that Coach operates a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Opening dates for those two stores were not verified either. International stores account for 637 of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but the annual report figure is not a city-by-city list. When planning a trip, use Coach’s local store locator instead of older press coverage.
UK Boutiques and Concessions
Apart from Regent Street, full-price stores are shown on Coach’s UK store locator at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. The London list also includes St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The documented full-price store beyond London is at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach also sells through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No stores were confirmed in Manchester, Edinburgh or other cities, so verify before concluding a local branch exists. This list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone searching coach uk locations. When confirming hours and services, the safest place is the store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.

Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores
Coach’s store locator labels Coach Outlet stores as outlets, and they are part of Coach’s own network rather than being run by independent discounters. In most cases, these stores are found in outlet centres; in the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. Confirmed Coach Outlet stores in the UK are at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so verify before travelling there. Some of the outlet stock is made for the outlet channel, yet the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014, so the current mix is unknown. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, the assortments also bring in some full-price collection product, together with earlier-season styles. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should check current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
What to Expect Inside a Coach Store
A full-price coach store puts the focus on the current handbag range, and also carries small leather goods, clothing and shoes. Recognisable bag families in 2026 include the Tabby, introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn, first released in August 2024, and the Empire Carryall, introduced in February 2025. Spotted US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are prices observed in the market rather than an official price list. Selected stores also participate in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. One membership spans both formats, because Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is reported to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. Because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, a receipt from a Coach store serves as useful proof of where a coach bag came from. Creative direction is led by Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who is still Creative Director in 2026.
Planning Your Visit
Above all while the New York flagship gets ready for its planned move, a little preparation spares you wasted journeys. Because Coach’s store locator separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations, first check the version for the country you are visiting. Check your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store participates, before attempting a trade-in. For personalisation or made-to-order services, check in advance whether the service is available. Tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021, so visitors to Britain will find no VAT refund to plan around. In case questions arise later, a receipt shows where a bag was bought, so hold on to every receipt. Check current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- Check the store locator on the day you travel.
- Verify trade-in participation and eligibility.
- Personalisation services should be booked ahead.
- Hold on to a receipt for every purchase.
